Check whether Paper 2 applies to your role
Paper 2 is Regulation of Securities. The HKSI mapping lists it alongside Papers 1, 7 and 8 for Responsible Officers in regulated activities Types 1, 4 and 8. Passing those papers does not itself grant a licence: check the requirements and exemptions for your role and background.
Exam format and the version boundary
Paper 2 has 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. The pass mark is 70%, equivalent to 28 correct answers. Questions are in English and Traditional Chinese. Use Study Guide v2.8.1 for examinations up to 25 October 2026; v2.9 applies from 26 October. Choose by examination date, not download date.
Turn each rule into a decision
Our suggested revision method is to record who a rule applies to, what triggers it, what action follows and whether an exception exists. This is a study method, not an official chapter list. For a procedure, record the order of actions; for a numerical requirement, record its scope and calculation basis.
Review the cause of each mistake
Before checking an answer, write down why you chose it. After reading the explanation, classify the error: role, exception, procedure or study-guide version. When repeating the question, identify the condition that determines the answer rather than recalling its position.

Plan around your examination date
Confirm your guide version, practise by topic, review errors, then attempt timed mocks. Mock results help identify gaps and do not guarantee a pass.
